The mission of a product manager is “to discover a product that is valuable, usable and feasible”.  As a business unit product manager for Open Education, your job is to build solutions that will improve processes, learning, student success, and overall customer and stakeholder satisfaction with Open English Junior.
Business – Product Management is above all else a business function, focused on maximizing business value from a product. Product Managers should be obsessed with optimizing a product to achieve the business goals while maximizing return on investment.
Technology – There’s no point defining what to build if you don’t know how it will get built. This doesn’t mean a Product Manager needs to be able to code but understanding the technology stack and most importantly understanding the level of effort involved is crucial to making the right decisions.
User Experience – Last but not least the Product Manager is the voice of the user inside the business and must be passionate about the user experience. Great product managers need to be testing the product, talking to users and getting that feedback first hand.

Job brief
We are looking for an experienced Product Manager to own a new product at Open Education who is passionate about building products that customers love. You will join a dynamic and fast-paced environment and work with cross-functional teams to design, build and roll-out products that deliver the company’s vision and strategy.
Role Synopsis
The product manager is responsible for setting a product vision and strategy.
PMs must plan for what their teams will deliver and when they will deliver it.
Product managers own ideation -- the creative process of generating, developing, and curating new ideas.
The product manager defines the features and requirements necessary to deliver a complete product to market and lead the product team to success.
The product manager is responsible for making product decisions and often is the lead resource for the rest of the organization when deep product expertise is required.
  •  Proven work experience in product management or as an associate product manager (3-5 years) or equivalent expertise in entrepreneurship or related areas
  • Proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle
  • Proven ability to bring Evidence-Based Decision-Making to your communication
  • Proven ability to develop product and marketing strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to executive management
  • Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and mobile/web technologies
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done
  • Skilled at working effectively with cross-functional teams in a matrix organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • MS/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent preferred, but open to creative, motivated applicants from diverse backgrounds
  • Bilingual—Spanish and English preferable
