Position Overview:
This position reports to the Senior Manager of Tutor Operations and supports the day-to-day operations of tutor centers in Brazil. These centers recruit, train, organize, and manage teams of subject matter experts (tutors) who provide guidance and academic support to students enrolled in Next U programs.
 
The Tutor Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring a quality experience for students by optimizing efficiencies in operations, overseeing the recruitment of well-qualified subject matter experts (tutors), implementing on-boarding and on-going training and development opportunities for tutors, checking and measuring the tutors´ performance.   
 
Responsibilities:
  • Oversees the application of recruiting procedures, training and development, scheduling and evaluations in the Tutor Operations Centers.
  • Works collaboratively with Tutor Operations Centers to implement consistent operations protocol across centers.
  • Promotes collegiality and synergies among Tutor Operations Centers
  • Implements the system of tutor performance evaluations and defines action plans.
  • Collaborates to develop and refine tutor training and development opportunities.
  • Assures tutor quality through reviews and interventions.
  • Identifies process improvement opportunities that promote efficiencies and scalability.
  • Analyzes multiple data sources and prepares tutor operations performance reporting for administrators.
  • Partners with the Senior Manager of Tutor Operations to drive key performance indicators and develop initiatives to achieve the overall strategic goals of the team.
  • Leads the development of objectives for change implementation, action and overall continuous improvement
  • Oversees the topic selection, review, scheduling, and production of regular Tutor Cafes (Webinar Sessions).
  • Manages the requests and complaints from students related to academic aspects.
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in education, training, instructional design or technology, human resources or other related field.
  • 3+ years of combined and/or overlapping successful experience with: management of employees, mass scheduling, training, and/or recruiting.

  • Ability to streamline and optimize business processes.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • High degree of professionalism.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Comfortable in a fast paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Highly proficient in use of Excel
  • Portuguese and English fluency.
