IT QA Lead

The IT QA Lead should be a software test professional with the primary focus of conducting, leading and coordinating software testing activities throughout the company.
 
Requirements:
  • 6 plus years working experience of testing methods, tools and techniques.
  • At least 2 years demonstrable experience in Team Leading.
  • Solid understanding of quality assurance as part of the development process.
  • Experience with Agile approaches, principles and practices.
  • Experience overseeing all aspects of quality assurance including establishing metrics, applying industry best practices, and developing new tools and processes to ensure quality goals are met.
  • Experience acting as key point of contact for all QA aspects of releases, providing QA services and coordinating QA resources internally and externally.
  • Strong analytical skills; experience using tools, Test Management, creating test cases, test scripts, and associated documentation.
  • Experience with testing complex, multi-platform, distributed applications.
  • Fluent in English / Spanish.
  • Excellent business and technical writing and oral communication skills.
  • Developer/Automation experience, Salesforce and Datawarehouse knowledge are a plus.
 
Key Duties:
  • Establish and evolve formal QA processes, ensuring that the team is using industry-accepted best practices.
  • Oversee all aspects of quality assurance and estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve multiple projects goals.
  • Determine and assess need for additional staff and/or consultants and make the appropriate recruitments if necessary during project cycle.
  • Actively participate in project meetings during software development lifecycle.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
  • Manage tasks by delegating them in other team members when needed and keeping track of their performance.
  • Keep abreast of changes in the standards, technologies or methodologies.
  • Conduct training sessions with employees so that they can be equipped with new knowledge and skills to remain current. They also train entry-level employees that will allow them to be on the same level as the team.
  • Manual, automation and performance testing of various software products; defects tracking, and documenting test cases clearly for each product, module and components by product functionality.
  • Develop software test plan(s), create test estimates, and execute testing of software applications developed using various technologies.
  • Perform regression and functional testing.
